BIRMINGHAM, AL – Today, June 16th, Randall Woodfin announced the endorsement of the National Association of Letter Carriers Branch #530 for the August 22nd mayoral election. The endorsement comes on the heels of Woodfin’s open letter addressing the concerns of Birmingham’s city employees, ultimately reinforcing his commitment to working people.
“It is hard to match the commitment and work ethic of Birmingham’s letter carriers. Rain, sleet, or snow, our letter carriers perform their task with the utmost professionalism,” stated Woodfin. “Our letter carriers deserve leadership that works as hard for them as they do for us. And as mayor, I will be the champion in City Hall that our city employees rightly deserve.”
Woodfin’s agenda for working people is gaining momentum locally and drawing national support. In May, Woodfin received a prominent endorsement Our Revolution which is led by respected progressive activists such as former NAACP President Ben Jealous and Larry Cohen, the former president of the Communications Workers of America.
